In 2017, Attorney Townsend won a unanimous decision in the Wisconsin Supreme Court in Operton v. LIRC, 2017 WI 46, 375 Wis. 2d 1, 894 N.W.2d 426, which affirmed the reversal of a LIRC decision that improperly denied unemployment benefits under a new “substantial fault” standard. The decision had a state-wide impact.
